I have a few tips you should definitely keep in mind-
Use the most acceptable fonts – Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, Georgia, Verdana. Don’t stray away from these in an attempt to make your letter look super-fancy.
Use a minimum font size of 12.
Leave a 1-inch margin all around the letter.
Add a header of your institution or organization. Read more here
A Professional LOR talks about your work ethic and performance as an employee
This letter is usually given by your team leader, manager, senior manager, and if you are an entrepreneur, your mentor or a co-founder
Here, you can highlight-
The kind of projects you’ve worked on
Any awards you’ve won
The CSR initiatives you participated in, or
Any other achievements from your workplace
To help you write a powerful LOR, here are some quick pointers to remember:
Be sure to introduce yourself and mention your connection to the student.
Mention the student’s achievements, but more than that, explain how they did it.
Details are the key! It’s important to elaborate slightly on the students’ qualities that you endorse. For example, instead of saying ‘Siya has great social awareness’, it would be better to say, ‘As demonstrated by her volunteer work for several university NGO partnerships, Siya is a socially aware and determined individual’.
While you follow these tips, remember you need to keep the LOR under 500 words!
