Northwestern's engineering curriculum is somewhat unique in that students take courses in engineering design in the first year. In contrast, at many schools, these courses would be reserved for upperclassmen after completing the theoretical and foundational courses. The Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science offers 15 full-time master’s degree programs and four part-time master’s programs for students to choose from. The university is ranked no. 18 in Best Engineering Schools by US News.
