Schwarzman Scholars is a scholarship program for outstanding students from the U.S. and China. It was established in 2010 by Dr. Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Blackstone Group L.P., who serves as the Honorary Chairman of Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Approximately 50 scholars are admitted into the program to study together for one year at Tsinghua University under a curriculum. The design allows them to explore issues related broadly to economic development and global policy. While also exploring their interests in depth through independent research projects on topics chosen by each scholar based on their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
Schwarzman Scholars aims to develop future leaders who are intellectually brilliant. It helps them to build new networks among peers from around the world while living in China.
