    • RE: Funds for PhD programs

Hey Amandeep, PhD programs are usually at least partially funded if not entirely. Most universities cover tuition costs, living costs or simply the costs for textbooks and research materials. However, generally most colleges abroad do fund your research programs completely. It is a general norm for universities to either accept an application with grants or otherwise outright deny the application. The reason for that being that most PhD students are discouraged from engaging in external employment or at least reduce their working time, especially in the USA and Canada. With the money you are provided, you should easily be able to buy a car and rent a house, but don't expect to do anything extravagant with money provided.

    • RE: Could someone help me with figuring out the colleges that i could get ?

      Hey Amandeep,
generally top universities in USA such as MIT, Stanford, Columbia University, etc. require a minimum TOEFL score of 100 for you to get selected. That being said, having a strong profile(with good work experience, overall good scores, SOP, etc.) could definitely help you get in if you've got a lower score than that.
