Before applying for a student loan to pursue education abroad, the applicant must thoroughly understand the documents required. You'll need the following papers to apply for an education loan for abroad study:

  1. Application form (completed)

  2. Passport size photographs of both the applicant and the co-applicant

  3. Photo identity proof of both the applicant and the co-applicant

  4. PAN card

  5. Voter ID card

  6. Driving license

  7. Passport.

  8. Aadhar Card

  • Residence proof of both the applicant and the co-applicant

  • Educational documents:

  1. Mark sheet and certificates (School and College/University)

  2. Score report for IELTS, GRE, TOEFL,  GMAT, etc. (whichever is applicable)

  3. Admission letter from the  College or University

  • Bank statements for the last 6 months (both the applicant and the co-applicant)

  • Income proof of the co-applicant (parents or guardians)

  • In case of collateral (immovable property), it can be flat, home, or land (non-agriculture) the following documents are required:

  1. Title deed of Property 

  2. Approved plan of Building/Apartment/House

  3. No objection certificate for a mortgage from the society/builder

Latest  3 salary slips, 

Bank Statement of last 3 months

Self-employed:

Income certificate from Tehsil/office, Collector's 2 years ITR with the income statement.

Technical Documents

Aside from the documentation listed above, candidates must also have additional technical documentation in order to obtain an education loan.

  • Title deed

  • Approved layout plan 

  • Revenue document

  • BDA Allotment letter and NOC

  • NE certificate (Non-Encumbrance)

  • Possession Certificate from Builder

  • Latest tax receipt for property

  • sale deeds

  • Conversion certificate

  • Urban clearance certificate

NOTE: These requirements can vary as per the banks’ own regulations.
