Founded in 1967, Fleming College is named after Sir Sandford Fleming, the Canadian Pacific Railway Company director and inventor of Universal Standard Time. It is located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The primary campus is the Sutherland Campus, which features many activities such as athletics and sports, teaching facilities, the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre and green space. The other campuses of Fleming College are located in Cobourg, Haliburton, and Lindsay. This institution is home to over 16000 students from all over the world enrolled in more than 100 programs. About
Students can take courses common to all Fleming Business School programs in semester one and gain a good overview of business and communication skills. The faculty members are professionals—CPAs with industry expertise in a wide variety of accounting practices and business organizations. Students will apply their classroom knowledge and hone their interpersonal and communication skills through participation in the Canada Revenue Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Clinic. Students can use the latest tax software to prepare and e-file tax returns for eligible residents and students in our communities. Job opportunities are available at different levels and in many sectors, including manufacturing and service companies, banks, government ministries, and non-profit or charitable organizations. Positions range from junior accountant to financial analyst, as well as an accounting technician or auditor, among others.

After completing a program at Fleming College, students can apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWPP), and it may be issued for the course length, up to a maximum of three years.
