Scholarship Overview

Chancellor’s International Scholarship is offered by the University of Sussex . Chancellor’s International Scholarship is awarded to Masters Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given one time. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is GBP 5000. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their 12th grade and also possess a Bachelor degree.

  • This scholarship is applicable for a Masters’s Degree.
  • This scholarship is applicable for the following courses at the University of Oxford in the UK:
    • Master of Arts in Digital Media
  • This scholarship is available for all Post Graduate courses except:
    • Corruption, Law and Governance Master of Law (delivered in Qatar)
    • Development Studies – Master of Arts
    • Early Years in Education – Master of Arts
    • Globalization, Business, and Development – Master of Arts
    • Governance, Development, and Public Policy – Master of Arts
    • Power, Participation, and Social Change – Master of Arts
    • Poverty and Development – Master of Arts
    • Master’s degree in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
    • Post Graduate Certificate courses:
      • Schools direct teaching courses
      • Any Masters funded by the research councils (e.g., those receiving ESRC 1+3 funding are not eligible)
      • Any Masters at Brighton and Sussex Medical School

  • To be considered for the Chancellors International and EU Scholarship, you need to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible course at Sussex Please complete the separate scholarship application form online, after you have received an offer to study at Sussex
  • The successful applicant will need to ensure they have made plans or raised sufficient funds to cover the remaining tuition fee and costs of living, for the duration of their degree

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

  • Are applying for a course in the University of Sussex Business School
  • Are applying for a course in the School of Engineering and Informatics
  • Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
  • Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
  • Already hold another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e., Chancellors Masters Scholarship)

To be eligible for this scholarship applicant must:

  • be classified as overseas for fee purposes
  • have accepted a place on a full-time eligible Masters, commencing at the University of Sussex in September
  • have excellent grades (UK first class or equivalent)
  • have clear and specific goals with defined links to their course
