Additional Information:

  • On completion of the course program, submit a report to Gard’s Scholarship Committee summarising the benefits of receiving the award and how the Scholarship funds were spent.

Termination of the scholarship:

  • Failure to meet the conditions of eligibility for the Scholarship is cause for disqualification and termination of the award
  • If the award is terminated, the awardee may be required to repay to Gard P. & I. (Bermuda) Ltd., in part or in total, any monies that have been paid

Scholarship Eligibility

  • The Scholarship Committee will interview selected applicants before announcing the winner of the Scholarship
  • Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and must have commenced studies at a university or equivalent educational institution focusing on the required subjects
  • Applicant must present a plan for the completion of his/her studies and set out to what extent the scholarship will be used for the purpose of financing a special project or course being part of the education programme he/she has already commenced
  • Must outline future career plans and describe the extent to which he/she wishes to work in the shipping and marine insurance business
