Scholarship Overview

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (with funding from FCDO) and UK universities, to support scholarships for students from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK. The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are offered on an annual basis for full-time postgraduate Masters study only.

  • Master of Science in Health Data Science

  • Max scholarship per student: Pound 38,925 => Rs 39,54,391
  • Conversion rate used: 1 Pound = Rs. 104.90 (last updated 7th December 2023)
  • Scholarship amount will be given: One Time
  • The total amount payout includes Tuition (£25450) and Living expenses of £13475
  • It also covers the following-
    • Approved airfare from the applicant’s home country to the UK and return at the end of their award (arranged by the university; funded by the CSC)
    • Examination fees
    • Warm clothing allowance
    • Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
    • Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)

Scholarship Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024
  • By September 2024, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)
  • Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
  • Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format
