Appication Process for this scholarship

  • Applicants must submit a complete application for the course commencing in Semester 1 (March) or Semester 2 (July) or Summer 1 / Term 6 (November) intake of 2022 at La Trobe University – Victorian campuses.
  • Applicants must also provide the following documents before the application closing date:
    • A detailed resume
    • A personal statement of no more than 300 words or a 3-4 minute video to detail “Why you should be awarded with the La Trobe University Excellence Scholarship”.

  • If the applicant doesn’t have a Bachelors degree:
  • With Prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, may be considered
    • In making an offer to an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of factors to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated the capacity to work at a Master’s level, including academic record, English proficiency, and/or employment experience
  • The Bachelor degree (or equivalent) must be deemed cognate to gain entry to a 1.5 year Master degree, otherwise, the applicant will be considered for a 2 year Master degree program
  • Maintain a full-time enrolment at one of the La Trobe University campuses in Australia and satisfactory academic progress during their studies.
  • The scholarship award recipients must be willing to be an international student ambassador for La Trobe International during their study period.

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants:

  • Be a citizen and resident of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Kenya, Mauritius or Vietnam.
  • Be applying for one of the La Trobe International Scholarship (LTIS) list of eligible courses.
  • Have an overall WAM achievement of 80% or above.
  • Commence their studies at any of the La Trobe University Victorian Campuses in 2022.
  • Meet the University’s English language requirements and all other conditions stated on the Offer Letter.
  • As a scholarship award recipient, the student should be willing to be an International student ambassador for La Trobe University during their studies.
  • Must have a recognized Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • According to Weighted Average Marks, the scholarship amount varies as given below:
    • LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 65 – 69.99 gets 15 % scholarship on annual fees (A$ 5,400)
    • LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 70 -74.99 gets 20 % scholarship on annual fees (A$ 7,200)
    • LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 75 and above gets 25 % scholarship on annual fees (A$ 9,000)
  • Must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement with one of the following tests:
    • IELTS: Score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0
    • TOEFL: Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
    • PTE: Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50

Scholarship Restriction:

  • Only for students capable of full course funding
  • If an applicant is full-fee paying student, then he/she may be eligible for a La Trobe Excellence Scholarship and can receive up to a 25% reduction on course fees
