Scholarship Overview

Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship is offered by the Queen’s University Belfast to international students. Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship is available for students from any country who want to study bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in the UK at the Queen’s University Belfast. Every year, the university selects a certain number of candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is GBP 5250 at Queen’s University Belfast. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

This scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree. This scholarship is applicable for the following courses in Queen’s University Belfast in UK

  • Available to eligible international students returning to study on a full-time undergraduate, postgraduate taught, or postgraduate research programme
  • The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship:
  • Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology
  • Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology
  • ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes, and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes
  • External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University
  • Higher Doctorates – Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
  • PhD programmes by Published Works

Scholarship amount details

  • Max scholarship per student: Pound 5,250 => Rs 5,24,370
  • Conversion rate used: 1 Pound = Rs. 100.70 (last updated 30th October 2023)
  • Scholarship amount will be given: One Time
  • 20% reduction in tuition fees for Year 1
  • The discount is awarded for the first year only and is deducted from gross tuition fees
  • The amount will vary according to the program chosen by the student

  • Degree transcripts for all completed periods of study (undergraduate level and above)
  • If the applicant’s degree is still in progress, he/she must provide a transcript of the results achieved to date. This can be requested from his/her University
  • Certified translations, if the applicant’s original documents are not in English
  • If he/she does not have translations at the time of application, please forward by email to intl.student@qub.ac.uk when available
  • Proof of English Language proficiency
  • Applicants must include the names and contact details of two referees, normally academics, who are familiar with their undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies
  • If they have taken a higher degree or postgraduate course, one of their referees should normally be from that institution
  • If they have been away from higher education for some time, they may use an employer as one of their referees
  • Other documents, (such as a resume, writing samples, portfolios) as requested by the department

Scholarship Eligibility

Students must:

  • Hold an offer of a place on a full-time and complete duration program at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2022/23
  • Prior to the commencement of the study, have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter
  • Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to verify their previous program of study

Additional Information:

  • Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount
  • Students must be Queen’s University alumni, Exchange, Study Abroad, International Summer School, or AHSS Winter School Students who have successfully completed the full duration of their previous program with Queen’s University Belfast
  • The scholarship cannot be used in place of any required deposit and no cash alternative is available
  • Students must register for their degree program by the start date outlined in their offer
  • Any Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship awarded is for entry to Queen’s University Belfast in the academic year 2022/23 and cannot be used for 2023/24 entry or any other year
  • Students must be self-funded
  • In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programs at Queen’s University, they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course in which they enrol in the 2022/23 academic year
  • Applicants may apply and/or be considered for more than one award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive only the highest value award with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant

No, the scholarship is only available to students self-funding their education and are not in receipt of any educational loan.

Are undergraduate Medical students applicable for the scholarship?

The scholarship is not open to undergraduate medical, dentistry, agricultural technology and theology programs.

Can the scholarship be deferred?
