Ami Chessex is one of the most famous pioneers in the Swiss hotel and tourism industry from the 19th century. He was the owner of the Grand Hôtel de Caux sur Montreux, the most luxurious hotel in Switzerland at that time. SHL Inspire Scholarships are highly desirable.

Appication Process for this scholarship

  • Step 1 – Complete your online BSc application
  • Step 2 – Conduct a 10- minute presentation on the most important reasons why you are fascinated by the hospitality industry in front of your classmates or friends Record your presentation with your smartphone or a camera
  • Step 3 – Conduct a 40-minute interview with someone from the hotel industry with a list of 10 questions on topics you are interested in Summarize your questions and answers in a two-page paper
  • Step 4 – A letter of recommendation from someone in the hospitality field and an additional letter of recommendation from your school will complete your application

Scholarship Eligibility

  • The SHL Inspire Scholarship Programme supports exceptional and inspiring young people
  • Applicants will be interviewed for 40 minute
  • Applicants must demonstrate outstanding passion and flair for the hotel and hospitality industry, as well as their aspiration to become inspiring leaders
  • The following points will be considered:
    • Academic and extra-curricular achievements
    • Any previous hospitality work experience is a plus
    • Level of quality of the submitted presentation and interview, as well as the content of the recommendation letters
    • Team coaching with an industry leader is required
