CPT eligibility refers to the criteria students must meet to be eligible for Curricular Practical Training. CPT allows international students in the US on F-1 visas to gain work experience directly related to their field of study. To be eligible, students must have completed one academic year, maintain valid F-1 status, and have a job offer or internship that is an integral part of their curriculum. They must also receive authorization from their designated school official (DSO) and ensure the employment does not exceed 20 hours per week during regular semesters. CPT can provide valuable practical experience while maintaining student visa status.
