Depending on local demand, the IELTS test is offered on 48 scheduled dates per year (up to four times a month). Candidates can take the exam on any of the 48 days that are convenient for them. Candidates can also retake the exam at any time. Also, there is no time limit for taking the IELTS exam; students can retake the exams as many times but they have to pay the exam fee of Rs.14,700 each time.
Step 1: Visit IELTS official website and go to the “registration” tab
Step 2: On the IELTS registration page, select the IELTS test of their choice, then select the test type, and then choose the location/city from the dates available.
Step 3: Confirm the exam date and time, based on the slots available, then agree to the terms and conditions and proceed.
Step 4: Enter personal information like name, date of birth, valid email address, contact number, and document ID number.
Step 5: Fill out any additional registration information, such as their address, educational qualifications, and the reason for taking the exam.
Step 6: In this step, candidates are required to upload the first and last page of their passport (a passport is mandatory for IELTS). Make sure the document is in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF format and its size is less than 1 MB.
Step 7: Select the university or organization that the candidate wants to send the IELTS scorecard to, and it will be directly delivered to them (this step is optional).
Step 8: Review the application and make the required changes before submission.
Step 9: Make payment for the IELTS fees for registration and click "submit."
Step 10: Once payment is done get your acknowledgement receipt
Online – Go to the IELTS British Council's website and fill up an online profile. After that, you'll have to pay the exam money (Rs. 14,700). The quickest and most convenient method is to register online at the British Council IELTS India website. You can register at any time and on any day using the online approach. You'll have to pay using a credit or debit card.
In-person – One can directly register at the IDP office or the British council by filing a paper application or downloading it online. You can pay the fees by debit card, credit card, demand draft, or direct bank deposit for which you will get immediate confirmation.
For booking a slot for the IELTS exam, the aspirant needs a valid passport and a debit/credit card to pay the registration fee of INR 14,700.
