The Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) examines students' writing and speaking abilities to ensure that they are capable of learning in a global environment and have a solid command of English, the universal language. By performing well on PTE test, students can demonstrate to the admissions committee and immigration officials that they are capable of understanding the globally recognized official language while studying in a foreign country.

Students that do well on the test will be able to articulate their thoughts, give a presentation, strive to gain international exposure, and generally function in front of foreign audiences on an international level. PTE is an English language test, and its Exam Pattern is identical to that of other English language tests. It concentrates on the three major aspects of linguistic ability:

This component is divided into six short parts that assess your promptness in speaking and writing the written test, which you will be reading for the first time. The entire portion is scheduled to last 56 to 67 minutes, with the following time allocation for each segment:

Personal Introduction: Totals 55 secs: 25 secs for prompting and 30 secs for recording.

Read Aloud: 30-40 secs for the preparation to read the text of 60 words.

Repeat Sentence: 3-9 seconds for prompting and 15 seconds for recording.

Describe Image: 25 secs to study the image and respond

Re-Tell Lecture: 90 secs to prompt and 10 secs to prepare and 40 seconds to respond

Answer Short Question: Total 20 seconds: 3 to 9 secs to prompt and 10 secs to respond

Summarize Written Text: 10 minutes to answer the 300 words text.

Essay writing: 20 minutes to respond to 2-3 sentences text.

The PTE Academic listening test lasts 30 to 43 minutes. This section is meant to test the candidate's ability to hear spoken English. The learner must ensure that they closely listen to the audio file being played and retain what they hear. This portion is broken into eight segments, with each segment receiving the following amount of time:

Summarize Spoken Text: 60 to 90 secs to remember 50 to 70 words, and 10 minutes to write them down.

Fill in the Blanks: 30 to 60 secs

Highlight Correct Summary: 30to 90 secs
