Queensland University (UQ) is one of Australia's top research and teaching universities, with its headquarters in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. Queensland University aims toward excellence through the development, preservation, transfer, and application of knowledge. The Group of Eight includes UQ as a founding member (Go8) and a member of Universities Australia and is one of only three Australian members of Universitas 21. The university’s motto is Scientia ac Labore which translates to ‘by means of knowledge and hard work’.


The Queensland University (UQ) has a college, a graduate school, and six faculties that offer associate, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and different doctorate degrees. In late 2013, UQ became a member of edX, the world's largest consortium of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), developed by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in collaboration (MIT).
