About

The University of South Australia (UniSA) was founded in 1991 in the Australian state of South Australia, but its roots can be traced back to the latter half of the 19th century. The present form of the university was established with the merging of the South Australian Institute of Technology (SAIT, formed in 1889 as the South Australian School of Mines and Industries) with the Magill, Salisbury, and Underdale campuses of the South Australian College of Advanced Education (SACAE, founded in 1856). The University is affiliated with the Australian Technology Network (ATN), the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and Universities Australia (UA).

There are 6 campuses of the University of South Australia: the City West Campus, City East Campus, Magill Campus, Mount Gambier Campus, Mawson Lakes Campus, and Whyalla Campus. The University is situated in the beautiful city of Adelaide – a city that has been ranked as one of Australia's most liveable cities by the 2022 Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Index.

The University of South Australia offers more than 200 degrees across four divisions - Business and Law, Education, Art and Social Sciences, Health Sciences and IT, Engineering, and the Environment. Research degrees at the University of South Australia are project-based and focus on producing new knowledge, providing solutions to global challenges, and preparing candidates for competitive careers.
