The University of Victoria is a public research university located in downtown Victoria, British Columbia. Founded in 1907, the University of Victoria is situated on a 402-acre campus just west of downtown. The main campus buildings are listed as parks under Greater Victoria's Greenest City Action Plan. The university prides itself on building a culture of innovation, research, and a dynamic learning environment. The university is home to the world-leading Ocean Networks Canada, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, Institute for Integrated Energy Systems, and the world's only joint Indigenous law program.
