In the major in ancient oriental studies, students will receive a wide-ranging education in the source languages Akkadian and Sumerian and students will deal with the deciphering and interpretation of the cuneiform texts from the various ancient oriental cultures. In addition, students will research the ancient cultures of the Near East, especially in the area of today's states of Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey from the fourth to the first millennium BC. Students will thereby acquire in-depth expertise in classical studies.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for admission, applicants must submit a certificate that entitles them to study in their home country. They must submit certificates, grade overviews, or transcripts of their studies.
