The course deals with the basics of text linguistics and writing science, also taking into account culture-specific differences. In a first part, it therefore aims at in-depth competencies in the research areas of writing research, variation linguistics and text and discourse linguistics. The professional fields of application for graduates of the course are widely spread. There are mainly employment opportunities at universities, in literary or linguistic teaching and research as well as in language teaching in private schools.

Eligibility Requirements:

The prerequisite for admission to a master's program and thus for enrollment is a bachelor's degree in the same degree program at the Technical University of Darmstadt or an equivalent degree. If students have acquired their degree from a foreign university or if they acquire it by the beginning of the application semester, the International Admissions Office is responsible for the recognition and equivalence assessment of their foreign degree. Students must submit proof of language skills.
