Established in 1966, Brunel University ranks among the top 25% of research universities in the UK. The Main Campus of Brunel University is situated in London, Uxbridge UB8 3PH, United Kingdom, and is only 20 minutes from Heathrow airport and 40 minutes from central London. Uxbridge is a suburban town and metropolitan district with several theatres, restaurants, and clubs.

Brunel University is organised into three colleges – Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences; Business, arts and social sciences; and health and life sciences – and three major research institutes – energy futures and environment; health and societies; and materials and manufacturing. Brunel offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses in several disciplines, including Chemical and Civil Engineering, Design, Digital Media, History, Journalism, Law, Physiotherapy, Sociology, etc. Students may choose to complete practical placements and projects as part of their coursework depending on the degree program they are pursuing.

The university has produced many notable alumni, including Tony Adams, James Cracknell, former NBA player Michael Olowokandi, and political theorist Ralph Miliband.
