It was first opened with the name Kingston Technical Institute, and in 1992 it was renamed Kingston University. It has nine undergraduate units and four graduate units in Ithaca, two medical and professional units in New York, and one in Qatar. Professional schools of Kingston University of Law, Johnson School of Management, and the Veterinary School. The University has campuses around Kingston. Some of the campuses are Friars Avenue and Crammer Terrace in London.
