Established in 1908, Queen's University Belfast is known for being a member of the Russell Group of intensive research universities, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, Universities UK, and Universities Ireland. 

Queen's University Belfast has fifteen schools and three faculties, namely the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS), Engineering & Physical Sciences (EPS), and the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Sciences (FMHLS) (MHLS).

Situated in Belfast, UK, the main campus of Queen's University Belfast is on the southern fringes of Belfast city center. It has two associated university colleges, namely, St Mary's and Stranmillis, that are located in the west and south-west of the city, respectively.
