University College London, globally known as "London's Global University," is the oldest and the largest university in London. Established in 1826, the university has over 40,000 students currently seeking education at the institution, out of which 53% are international aspirants. It is also a member of the elite Russell Group of Universities, United Kingdom, and a significant member of the League of European Research Universities. The university has a Latin motto, 'let all come who deserve the most reward by merit.' In 1878, the university became the first university in England to admit women on equal terms as men.
