Students will be exposed to all four traditional subfields of anthropology archaeology, biological anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and social/cultural anthropology. Along with core courses, students are also encouraged to pursue interdisciplinary research areas. This professional program is intended to train students to attain positions within the industry.

About

This program offers the opportunity to explore visual art and culture through courses across a broad range of periods and societies and close student-teacher contact. Learning how to look and write about works of art is stressed, particularly in introductory courses. Students should take a variety of art history courses before focusing on the area of their Senior Project research. They are required to take at least one art history course each semester and to distribute those courses over the range of art history offerings to maximize exposure to different faculty and different approaches to the field.

About

This course introduces students to the study of American art, from its origins until the present day including painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography. Selected topics and artists are explored in the changing aesthetic, political, and cultural climate of the United States. Art History is an interdisciplinary study of artistic mediums that include sculpture, visual painting, drawing, performance art, and many other forms of cultural expression.
