1 Scotland Saltire scholarships

You must have an offer of a seat at a Scottish institution on an appropriate program to apply for a Saltire Scholarship. 

Students are requested to enquire with their university for further information if they fulfill the qualifying conditions for EU and EEA scholarships. The Saltire Scholarship application deadline for students from Canada, China (including Hong Kong), India, Pakistan, Japan, and the United States has passed, and applications are now closed.

2 Commonwealth scholarships

To be considered for Commonwealth Scholarships, you must apply through a National Nominating Agency. Every Commonwealth country has its nominating body with its set of regulations, eligibility requirements, and dates.

Documents to Support an Application for Commonwealth Scholarships

To begin their Commonwealth scholarship applications, you must provide the following documents:

  • Passport photocopy

  • Admission letter to a UK institution based on academic certificates

  • Proof of tests taken to study in the United Kingdom

3 Gates Cambridge scholarship

Applicants can apply for admission and financing (Gates Cambridge and other sources) using the Graduate Application Portal of the University. 

To be considered for the renowned Gates Cambridge Scholarship, you must first complete the section on applying for admission to a program and a College seat and the Gates Cambridge element of the financing section.

4 Edinburgh global research scholarship

The university board appoints a special selection committee to assess students based on specified criteria.

Recipients will be notified about the scholarship by the end of April. The scholarship is renewable for three years of study at the University of Edinburg.

Conditions of Use Concerning the scholarship:

  • Ph.D. or the equivalent indirect research training holders are not eligible.

  • If a student applies to begin his Master's degree in the first year and his Ph.D. in the second year, as in the case of a Postdoctoral, the scholarship will not be available in the first year of study.

  • The Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships, such as the Commonwealth Scholarship or the Marshall Scholarship.

5 Warwick Chancellor’s International scholarship

Applicants for a Chancellor's International Scholarship must also enroll in a Ph.D. program at the University of Warwick, which will commence in October 2022.

• Students presently enrolled in a Ph.D. or MPhil/Ph.D. program at the University of Warwick may apply only during their first year of enrollment.

• Applicants must expect to be considered 'overseas' for fee reasons, but there are no further nationality requirements.

• Applicants from any discipline at Warwick are welcome to apply.

• You cannot carry over scholarships to the next academic year.

You must read the PGR Ranking Criteria before applying. You must submit your course application and your scholarship application online, together with the accompanying documentation, by January 20, 2022.

6 GREAT scholarships

The British Council panel reviews each scholarship application based on predetermined criteria. For the final selection process, applicants who have been shortlisted will be interviewed.

The university will notify GREAT Scholarship awardees and will release funds after registration.

The British Council's selection panel will decide on scholarship giving. Selected candidates must make financial arrangements for living, traveling, and studying in the UK.
