Scholarship Overview

The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland (UQ) invites outstanding students who are citizens of India, to apply for a postgraduate coursework scholarship to cover 25% of tuition fees in the Master of Biotechnology, Master of Molecular Biology or Master of Bioinformatics programs, along with the Student Services & Amenities Fee. Up to four scholarships will be awarded each semester (eight per year), with half of these reserved for Master of Biotechnology applicants.

Appication Process for this scholarship

  • This scholarship covers 25% of the program tuition fees for the minimum number of units required to complete the program the scholarship is awarded for unless otherwise stated, along with each semester’s Student Services & Amenities Fee.
  • The scholarship recipient is required to pay the remaining tuition fees and any late fees.
  • The student must commence study in the semester indicated in the offer letter.
  • The scholarship does not cover other costs associated with study at UQ such as: – Cost of compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). – The University of Queensland application fee – Living allowances – Books – Travel expenses – Tuition fees for repeating failed courses.
  • The successful applicant must commence study in Semester 1 (February) or Semester 2 (July).
  • The successful applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • The successful applicant must be able to commence as an international student in Australia on a student visa.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • The scholarship is not available to students who have already completed a related postgraduate degree.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • This scholarship is for international students who are citizens of India and who will be studying at The University of Queensland on a full-time basis and who meet the selection criteria defined on the application form.
  • The scholarship is intended for newly commencing students and is not available for students who have already commenced studies at The University of Queensland.
  • Students are expected to fulfil all requirements associated with their student visas.
  • Student should diligently and to the best of their ability apply themselves to the successful completion of their degree.
  • Students are required to conform to the University regulations (including disciplinary provisions).
