University of Stuttgart offers the Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) scholarship. Every month, the International Students Office of University of Stuttgart awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) scholarship is applicable for Masters Degree. To be considered for this award, applicants must have a Bachelor degree. Foreign students wishing to apply for this scholarship must take English proficiency exams such as TOEFL and IELTS. Appication Process for this scholarship

  • The application for an EPOS-funded study place starts more than one year before the start of the study. This means, for example, that an application in 2023 corresponds to a study start in 2024. It is not possible to start studies in the same year as the application.
  • EPOS applications are not submitted via the official application platforms of the TU Dresden (SELMA portal and uni-assist) as is usually the case, but are sent directly to the relevant contact person in the respective faculty.
  • Consult the website of the respective degree programmes for information on the exact application procedure (e.g. online or postal application), the application deadline, and the documents to be submitted.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree (normally four years) in a related subject and have completed an academic degree with far above average results (upper third) and at least two years of related professional experience after the first degree (bachelor) at the time of application.
  • Applicants’ academic degrees should normally not be more than six years old.
  • Applicants work either for a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, are engaged in the planning and execution of directives and projects with an emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic, or social areas.
