Merit Scholarship is offered by the Sacred Heart University . Merit Scholarship is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 18000. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL and IELTS. Students must submit the following documentation to be considered for the scholarship: LOR, Financial Documents and Official Transcripts. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship.

Scholarship amount details

  • Merit scholarships range from $8,500 to $17,500
  • Merit scholarships are renewable for four years (eight semesters) of full-time undergraduate study provided the student maintains the required cumulative GPA established for their specific scholarship
  • Merit scholarships are only awarded at the time of admission
  • There should be no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years
  • Scholarships are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis

  • A course-by-course evaluation issued by WES, SpanTran, or by any other accredited organization listed on NACES
  • An official bank letter, signed by a bank official and dated within nine months of enrolling at Sacred Heart University verifying the student’s, the student’s family, and/or sponsor’s ability to pay $60,800 USD, the cost required to attend SHU (tuition, room, board, books, travel expenses)
  • Official Score Report for ELP (English Language Proficiency) exam
