Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants need to:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia
  • Have applied for an eligible graduate coursework degree
  • Not be in receipt of any other tuition fee remission scholarship or sponsorship which, in combination with the Melbourne Graduate Scholarship, exceeds 100% of tuition fees
  • Academic requirements:
    • Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in any discipline, or equivalent
    • Applicants must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement with one of the following tests:
      • IELTS: Overall 65, with no band less than 60
      • TOEFL (internet): Overall 79 with Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): Overall 58-64 inclusive and no communicative skill below 50
  • Preference will be given to following candidates:
    • Eligible candidates are selected on the basis of academic merit
