British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM

Scholarship Overview

For the fourth year walking the British Council launched the worldwide Women in STEM scholarship programme in partnership with UK universities for girls from decided on South Asian countries. The scholarship is for girls with a STEM heritage who can showcase their want for financial guide and who need to inspire destiny generations of ladies to pursue careers in STEM. Applications for the instructional year 2024-25 are closed. Scholarships for 2025-26 is probably announced later this year.

This scholarship is applicable for women pursuing master’s degrees in various fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at participating UK universities.

Scholarship amount details

• Full tuition fees
• Living stipend
• Travel costs
• Visa and health coverage fees
• Refund of an IELTS English language test, if needed.

Scholarship Eligibility

• Must be a woman or identify as a woman.
• Must be a passport holder and permanent resident of an eligible country.
• Should have applied to study an eligible postgraduate program at a UK university before applying for the scholarship.
• Must have completed all components of an undergraduate degree necessary for entry into a postgraduate program in the UK.
• Must not have previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived there recently.
• Must meet the English language requirement set by the UK university.
• Must demonstrate financial need through a means test conducted by the university.
• Must return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after the scholarship ends.
• Should have relevant work experience or a strong interest in the subject area applied for.
• Must have a plan to engage and inspire other women and girls in STEM fields in their home country.
• Agree to share personal data with the British Council for assessment and promotional activities​.
