Appication Process for this scholarship

  • SOP: Statement of Purpose is required and should contain the following:
    • Motivation for wanting to study this particular course, at GCU in particular, and how you have learned more about this course
    • What interests you about your chosen course’s content, and what makes it the most suitable one for you to undertake
    • Was there a particular factor in your choice of institution, such as the local area, the reputation of the team involved in the course, placement opportunities, or similar?
    • Your background, in relation to previous studies, employment or work experience, and why this course represents an appropriate progression from what you have done before
    • Your plan upon graduation and how this course will help you realistically achieve your goals and objectives
    • Should also outline why you wish to study in the UK, rather than study a course in your home country
    • The statement of purpose should be your own work, conveying your own views, and should not contain text copied from the GCU website or elsewhere
  • LOR:
    • Letters of reference should be provided on company/institution headed paper and signed by the referee. Photocopies of these are fine
    • Academic references should be provided by a current or previous tutor from your most recent studies
    • These should outline your suitability for the course you are applying for, with some evidence possibly in relation to your academic abilities, personal qualities, or career aspirations
    • Employment references should be provided by a current or previous supervisor or line manager from your most recent employment or work experience
    • Letters of reference should not be provided by a friend or family member

  • Fast track courses will be subject to half of the standard ‘New to GCU’ scholarship
  • Distance Learning or Part-time courses are not eligible for this discount

 

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicant must be self-funded
  • Applicants must have any one of the following in the relevant subject:
    • Four years Bachelor’s degree (50% minimum; second class average over course duration)
    • Three years Bachelor’s degree (60% minimum; first-class average over course duration) OR
    • UK Honours degree 2:2 (or equivalent) in any discipline
    • Non-standard entry is welcomed, particularly for applicants with CIPD certification and an unclassified degree/HND qualifications (or equivalent) with relevant experience
  • ELP Waiver: Applicants scoring 70% or higher marks in English in 12th are exempted from English language tests
