Appication Process for this scholarship

  • Official secondary school transcripts. If the applicant has not yet graduated from secondary school, a transcript showing all completed work may be accepted for early admission External examination reports should be provided when applicable
  • A written statement from the student that includes the student’s goals, educational and/or professional objectives, an explanation of past academic performance, information and/or documentation regarding any extenuating circumstances, and any other information the student wishes to have considered
  • Official English Proficiency test score
  • Certified, literal translations of all credentials issued in any language other than English
  • A statement of the student’s activities if there has been a gap in education
  • A signed Certificate of Financial Responsibility
  • An original bank statement (or letter from an appropriate official on bank letterhead) from the applicant or applicant’s sponsor
  • A copy of the applicant’s passport
  • 500-1000 word essay or a two-to-five minute video describing their aspirations to conduct projects, research, employment, or other experiences that will advance intercultural learning

Additional Information:

  • Scholarship can be renewed for up to four years (Fall and Spring semesters only)
  • Participate in a minimum of 10 hours per semester of cultural sharing and engagement with the local community through an internship with the International Programs Office
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Enroll and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credits (exception may be granted) for Fall and Spring semesters

  • Applicant must get 3.0-4.0 GPA in secondary school
  • Be a first-year international applicant to University of Idaho
  • Attend (or have graduated from) a secondary school outside of the United States
  • Demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning and exchange
