Founded in 1868, the Technical University of Munich is one of the best universities in Europe. TUM is highly renowned for its research, teaching, and talent development. The Technical University of Munich operates on four campuses located in Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan, and Straubing. Munich's main campus spreads over three regional sites, including the Information Technology and Electrical Engineering departments, Business School, Medical Hospitals, and Architecture.
TUM has around 48,000 students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs, out of which 14,000 are international students. The university has 13 academic divisions: Architecture, Informatics, Management, Chemistry, Civil, Physics, Geo and Environmental Engineering, Education, Math, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, Medicine, Sport and Health Sciences, and Life sciences. The Technical University of Munich does not have any specific requirements. There are a few points on which special emphasis is usually given for initial screening:
The reputation of your University/Institute.
Academic records.
International outlook in research and innovation.
For international students, there generally is an initial screening where your application is evaluated, roughly based on the above points, and marks are given. If you are shortlisted, you are called for a Skype interview. The Skype interview is to evaluate your technical know-how and your interests. They essentially determine if you will be able to fit in effectively with the TUM course format.
