Biochemistry is an interdisciplinary subject, the detailed study of which requires a solid knowledge of mathematics and the basic natural sciences. Accordingly, the course is divided into 19 modules, which are characterized in the first three semesters by mathematics, general physics and biophysics, as well as "classical" chemistry (general, inorganic, physical and organic chemistry) and a balanced ratio of lectures, exercises and seminars and have internships.

International applicants need a so-called "direct HZB" in order to be able to study in Germany.
