The program celebrates the historical and aesthetic development of African-American literary arts in the face of (often legalized) racial oppression. Students learn techniques and theories for critical reading to explore literary issues related to culture, race, and social history. Reading books by Black writers is important in helping people better understand the world around them as well as what it means to be Black.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for admission into the certificate program, applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification from an internationally recognized institution. Applicants will also be asked to provide supporting documentation as part of their application, including university transcripts verifying completion of a baccalaureate degree, submission of english proficiency test scores, and other documents. Applicants are required to provide proof of sufficient funds for the course duration.
