To apply for a student visa in the UK, applicants require some mandatory documents along with supporting copies of financial and academic records. It is important to refer to the UK Student Visa checklist before going to the consulate for the visa interview.
Some important documents that the applicants should carry are:
A completed student visa application form
A letter of acceptance on the course - The institution will provide an acceptance letter (CAS) and a visa letter which are official and unconditional offers of a place on a course of study. The visa letter must be issued a maximum of six months before you apply.
Proof of funds - Students also need to prove that they or their co-signer have enough money in their accounts to meet the expenses of the course and the cost of living in the UK. The amount needed depends on whether you are applying as a child or adult and if you will be studying in or out of London. You may also have to show that you have held the money for at least 28 days.
Mark sheets of the last qualifying examination for school and graduate studies in India.
Proof of admission to the course.
Copies of letter confirming scholarship, if any
Schedule of expenses for the specified course.
2 passport-size photographs.
Copies of foreign exchange permit, if applicable.
Borrower's Bank account statement for the last six months.
A brief statement of assets and liabilities of the Co-borrower.
Proof of Income (i.e., Salary slips/ Form 16, etc.).
Proof of individual’s identity & residency.
Proof of age.
Financial documents (all of the following)
Salaried individuals: Latest salary slip & Income tax assessment order for the last 2 years.
