Table of Contents

1 Merit-based scholarships

This sort of scholarship is given to overseas students depending on their academic achievements. Universities impose various requirements to qualify for this award. International students must be intellectually capable and have decent scores according to the university's requirements.

Chancellor's scholarship, Vice chancellor's scholarship, Dean's Scholarship, Excellence Scholarship, and Leadership Scholarship are some examples of common merit scholarships for overseas students.

After receiving scholarships, students must meet academic requirements that vary by institution and college.

2 Government scholarships

The Australian government offers this scholarship to overseas students who wish to pursue their studies at an Australian institution. This scholarship is broken down into several areas.

3 Australia awards

The Australia Awards aspires to encourage knowledge, education partnerships, and long-term ties between Australia and its neighbours through Australia's comprehensive scholarship programs.

It is a government-funded initiative that gives international students scholarships and fellowships to make their education more affordable. Every year, the Australian government contributes a substantial sum to these grants, allowing students to pursue their ambition of studying overseas.

4 Endeavor scholarship

This is also a government-funded scholarship for overseas students who wish to study in Australia for a postgraduate degree. This scholarship has a maximum value of $140,000 for a Master's degree and $272,500 for a Ph.D. This compensation comprises a $3,000 travel stipend, a $4,000 establishment stipend, and a $3,000 monthly payment, as well as health and travel insurance.

5 Research Training Program (RTP)

The Research Training program combines three previous scholarship programs: the Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA), the International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS), and the Research Training Scheme (RTS).

Block funds are distributed to the participating colleges every year.

6 Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships (AAPS)

These scholarships are available to overseas students from the Pacific area. Because these scholarships are merit-based, the applicant's past academic achievements and other factors will determine whether they are selected or not.

The scholarship is valid for the minimum amount of time that the student anticipates to complete the course. A preparatory course, generally of one year's duration, will be covered by the scholarship.
