DAAD Scholarships

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) - the world’s largest funding organization for international students offers plenty of scholarships as part of the education system in Germany for international students every academic year. Graduates, doctorate students, and postdocs are the main target audience for DAAD scholarships, which are given out for study and research trips to German universities and non-university research organisations. Internships may also be financially supported in some programmes.

DAAD Scholarships are not loans, so repayment is not necessary. For graduate students and doctoral/PhD candidates, they give monthly payments of €861 and €1,200, respectively. They also offer flat-rate trip reimbursements. In some circumstances, students may also be eligible for funding for their own health, accident, and liability insurance.

Erasmus+

The European Commission leads Erasmus+, the largest source of scholarships for study in the EU, which funds international students to study in Europe. It offers financial assistance to students enrolled in an exchange program to study in Europe.

The Erasmus+ programme gives international students who are already enrolled at a university in their home country the chance to attend a semester or two studying at a German institution. The purpose of exchange programmes is to allow students to broaden their linguistic, intercultural, and academic understanding while studying abroad, in this example in Germany.
