Founded in 1966, the University of Calgary is Canada's top comprehensive research university. It has more than 26,000+ undergraduate students and 6000+ graduate students under its roof. Calgary has around 14 faculties, 53 departments, and over 200 academic programs and is home to 85 research centres, building knowledge in health, social sciences, business and energy, and the environment. 

The University of Calgary also generated $325 million of sponsored research income in 2013-14. The University of Calgary is a member of the U15 group of Canadian public research universities, contributing upwards of CAD 36 billion annually to the national economy.

The University of Calgary, located in Calgary, Canada, occupies over 200 hectares, larger than Calgary's entire downtown. It has five campuses, including the Main Campus, Downtown Campus, Foothills, Spyhill, and Qatar. The Main Campus has the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning, The Olympic Oval and the MacEwan Student Centre, and other educational buildings in its ambit. The Foothills campus encompasses the Health Sciences Centre, the Heritage Medical Building, the Health Research Innovation Centre, and the Teaching, Research, and Wellness Building.

Lastly, the Downtown campus has The Haskayne School of Business and The School of Public Policy. Spy Hill campus includes the Clinical Skills Building, the Veterinary Sciences Research Station, and the Wildlife Research Station. The University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) educates future nursing leaders by offering Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing programs. Some notable alumni of the university include Stephen Harper (Former Canadian Prime Minister) and Robert Thirsk (Astronaut, who holds the Canadian record for the longest space flight and most time spent in space).

Following are some details about the University of Calgary International Entrance:

Offered annually to undergraduate international students entering first year in any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall term who have satisfied the university's English Language Proficiency requirement. Renewable in the second, third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student. International students who are required to pay a differential fee and who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada Academic merit.
