The University of Florida is the third-largest university in Florida by student population, and it's the fifth-largest single-campus university in the United States. In 2021, University of Florida students and alumni won 143 Olympic medals, including 69 gold medals. Through PACE, students are admitted to the University of Florida or UF. Before transitioning to on-campus learning, they must complete 60 credit hours and all of their prerequisite courses through UF Online. 

 

The University of Florida officially opened its doors to women in 1947. The University of Florida offers over 60 club sports, personal training, two lakes, and one of the best fitness facilities in the country. It also offers a 140,000-sq.-ft., two-story fitness facility. The Southwest Recreation Center (SWRC) is full of Gators pursuing greater. In 2020, the university spent over $900 million on research and development, ranking it as one of the highest in the nation. 

 

The University of Florida’s Research and Impact remains one of its kind.  In 2002, it led a consortium of seven universities that secured a $15 million grant from NASA to carry out space research. Some notable alumni of the university include Berry L. Cannon (aquanaut), Kevin A. Ford (former NASA astronaut pilot), Kevin Ford (Astronaut), and Faye Dunaway (Actress)
