Stanford University was established in 1885 to promote public welfare. Located in the San Francisco Peninsula center, around 35 miles to the south of San Francisco and 20 miles north of San Jose, Stanford University is in California's famous Silicon Valley. It has a vibrant community of native students, faculty, and staff. At the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, hosted by Stanford, the 44th US President Barack Obama praised the Stanford University as “a place that celebrates our ability as human beings to discover and learn and to build, to question, to reimagine, to create new ways to connect and work with each other.”

Stanford University has seven schools under it. These include Stanford School of Business, Environmental Sciences, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Sciences, Law, and Medicine. Stanford offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. The university is also committed to providing financial aid to deserving students. Stanford University incorporates valued experiential education. Talking about the campus life, the beautiful Cantor art centers, housing and dining, community engagement, and diversity, along with athletics and art, make Stanford stand out in offering a great campus life to its students. 

The university alumni list includes 30 billionaires, 18 Turing awards receipts, and many members of the US Congress. Additionally, it has a broad alumni base that includes a network of 17 Nobel laureates, 32 Nobel Prize winners, 31 MacArthur Fellows, and 4 Pulitzer Prize winners. Sally Ride, the first American woman to go into space, received an undergraduate degree in physics from Stanford in 1973.
