Art is for everyone. Whether still exploring your artistic capabilities or ready to jump headfirst into a particular area of specialization, the art program is designed to help students expand their technical and creative capacity. Traditional methods and cutting-edge technology exist side-by-side. You’ll learn the fundamental history of each medium while being challenged to innovate using a myriad of digital tools and technologies. The art program is designed to give students the skills and confidence they need to produce original, compelling works of art.

About

This major is based in the chemistry department, with substantial supporting work done in the biology department. Our cross-disciplinary and engaged faculty prepare students for pre-health professions, graduate studies, or employment in biochemistry careers. Our biochemistry classes feature small group work, and students use modern research equipment in the biochemistry laboratory. In addition, The annual Haines Lecture in Biochemistry features seminars and classroom visits by nationally recognized biochemists.

The Biology program offers small lab-based courses taught by faculty with expertise in biology, neuroscience, environmental science, paleontology, and biochemistry. The student will have access to state-of-the-art labs in our LEED Certified Meldrum Science Center for both coursework and research projects. When the student signs up for field courses, Utah’s deserts, mountains, and the Great Salt Lake become the classroom. Explore the ways the student can get involved in the Westminster community to make the most of biology education.
