Located in New Haven, Connecticut, Yale has been touted as one of the best universities across the globe. The university was established as a Collegiate School, which was later renamed Yale College. Yale University became the first university in the United States to award Doctor of Philosophy degrees.


Yale University has produced many notable alumni, including 78 MacArthur Fellows, 247 Rhodes Scholars, 119 Marshall Scholars, 5 Fields Medalists, and 3 Turing award winners. In addition, the college is also renowned for having five U.S. Presidents, including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, William Howard Taft, and Gerald Ford, 19 U.S. Supreme Court and 4 Yale graduates signed the Declaration of Independence. 


Yale University also has Yale-NUS College, a liberal art and sciences college in Singapore which was jointly founded by the National University of Singapore and Yale University. Yale University is home to one of the largest libraries in the United States, with over 15 million books.
