Eligibility Criteria and Terms for the International Merit Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

This is a merit-based scholarship based on the applicant’s academic achievement in prior studies or English Language Proficiency.

All applicants will be assessed by CQUniversity’s International Admission team, and the applicant will be notified accordingly within the Letter of Offer. The scholarship offered will range from a 15%–25% reduction of the applicant’s tuition fees for the duration of the course.

Terms and Conditions

• All International Merit Scholarship recipients are governed by these terms and conditions.

1. The International Merit Scholarship is awarded, at the discretion of the University, to international students undertaking study at CQUniversity Australia.
2. The scholarship is available only for vocational, research, full-degree, and packaged academic courses.
3. The scholarship is available to new students or CQUniversity graduates continuing to another qualification, meeting minimum eligibility criteria.
4. The scholarship is not available in conjunction with any other CQUniversity Australia scholarship.
5. It is not available to students admitted to CQUniversity Australia based on work experience.
6. The scholarship is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
7. The scholarship is calculated and applied on a per-unit basis.
8. The scholarship remains valid while the recipient:
   • Maintains enrollment in compulsory terms at CQUniversity Australia;
   • Pays all tuition and additional fees on time, by the census date each term;
   • Meets the conditions of their student visa (if applicable).
9. The scholarship will be discontinued if the student:
   • Has overdue tuition fees or debts after census date;
   • Is identified at Level 3 of Academic Progression on their enrollment;
   • Graduates, cancels, or has their enrollment canceled at CQUniversity Australia.
10. Per the refund policy, refunds may adjust to recoup waived fees, including the International Merit Scholarship amount.
11. If a student cancels studies or transfers to a different provider, they must repay scholarship fees for each completed term. Fees owed may be deducted from any refund or invoiced to the student.
12. The scholarship may be withdrawn with 10 days’ written notice if terms and conditions are breached.
13. The scholarship is not available for students pursuing a Bachelor of Aviation (Commercial Pilot).

Appeals

There is no right of appeal if the applicant is unsuccessful in securing a scholarship or if the scholarship is withdrawn.

The terms and conditions may be changed at any time with 20 working days’ notice to current scholarship recipients. Students unsure about any terms and conditions should consult the Student Experience team at their campus.
