The Holland Scholarship (for incoming students) is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. The scholarship is a contribution towards the costs of study. The Holland Scholarship at Hanze UAS is for talented international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to obtain their master’s degree at our university.

  • If applicants wish to be eligible for the scholarship they first have to be admitted to the programme itself For information on how to get enrolled please see Application and (re-)enrolment
  • Admitted students will receive an invitation to apply for the scholarship and a link to Hanze’s Holland Scholarship application form from the programme’s admissions officer
  • Further practical information concerning the acceptance of the scholarship, procedure and payment will be sent to applicants after selection

Additional Information:
The Holland Scholarship cannot be used to reduce the tuition fee. However, a grant letter stating the amount of the scholarship can be used to reduce the total amount of the financial guarantee.

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • Have a nationality of non-EEA
  • Have been admitted to one of the full-time master’s programs at Hanze University of Applied Sciences mentioned above
  • Have never before studied at an education institution in the Netherlands
  • ELP scores
  • TOEFL- overall 90 with not less than 20 in Reading, Listening, Speaking, or Writing
  • IELTS- overall 65 with not less than 60 in Reading, Listening, Speaking, or Writing
