Scholarship Overview

International Student Entrance Scholarships are offered at University of Waterloo to those international students who are pursuing a Bachelors Degree. This is a Merit Based Scholarship, which is provided to only maximum number of students, depending on the University student. International Student Entrance Scholarships are valued at CAD 10000 for maximum number of students, depending on the University student who qualify from University of Waterloo. Also, the International Student Entrance Scholarships is a one time tuition reducing scholarship, offered in the first year of Bachelors Degree only. Applications for International Student Entrance Scholarships at University of Waterloo are filed separately. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS and PTE. Students will require the following documentation to apply for the scholarship: Official Transcripts. Along with the International Student Entrance Scholarships application. The eligibility of the students to qualify for International Student Entrance Scholarships would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to University of Waterloo Bachelors Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards University of Waterloo community and of course the academic achievements.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Students must be enrolled at Waterloo in full-time degree studies for the entire September 2021
  • Students must be starting post-secondary studies in a degree program for the first time in September 2021
  • Students need to submit an Admission information form
  • BS Computer Science applicants also need to submit results of ‘Euclid Mathematics Contest’
  • Students must accept Offer of Admission by the date specified on the offer
  • TOEFL – Score of 90 is required with a minimum of 25 in writing and speaking
  • IELTS – Score of 65 is required with 65 in writing, 65 speaking, 60 reading, and 60 listening
  • PTE – Score of 63 is required with a minimum of 65 in writing and speaking sections
