Scholarship Eligibility

  • Rhodes Scholars must have completed a Bachelor’s degree before coming up to Oxford, to a sufficiently high standard to meet both the Rhodes and the Oxford criteria

Rhodes Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India, holding an Indian passport, or equivalent proof of citizenship; PIO or OCI cardholders are not eligible
  • Applicant must have undertaken formal study at an educational institution in India for a minimum of 4 of the last 10 years, and have either (i) completed a school-leaving exam (10th or 12th standard) at a school in India, or (ii) have received, or be in the final year of, an undergraduate degree at a university in India
  • Must be aged 18-23 on 1st October 2023 (ie you must have been born after 1 October 1999 and before 2 October 2005)
  • OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual) ii You must be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2023 (ie have been born after 1 October 1996) AND you must also have completed the academic requirements for your first undergraduate degree
  • Applicant must have completed (or will have completed by June / July 2022) their undergraduate degree with First Class, or equivalent
