    • Max scholarship per student: CAD 25,000 => Rs 15,41,000

    • Scholarship amount will be given: Yearly
    • The value of International Leader of Tomorrow Award is proportional to financial need. Financial need is determined by totaling tuition, fees, and living costs, and subtracting the financial contribution applicant and his family can make each year. A standard needs assessment is based on the financial information provided by the applicant and their family
    • The award may be renewed for up to three additional years of undergraduate study or to degree completion – whichever comes first. Applicant should achieve satisfactory academic standing in faculty, continue to demonstrate financial need, and maintain the Canadian study permit (student visa)

  2. Decide on the academic program Students want to study, and which campus Students want to choose.
  3. To apply for the International Scholars Program, Students must be nominated by their school or non-profit, and submit a reference from an academic referee.
  4. Gather their required financial information, as well as notes on any extracurricular activities and awards.
  5. Apply for the International Scholars Program by submitting the application by the November 15 deadline.
  6. Submit their admissions application to UBC by the December 1 deadline.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • XIIth: Applicants must have passed High School
  • Prerequisites:
    • For Business courses: Mathematics (Standard XII Level)
    • For Engineering courses: Math, Chemistry, and Physics (Standard XII Level)
  • Applicant must be an international student who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
  • Applicant must be entering UBC from a recognized secondary school, college, or other universities
  • Applicant must be applying for their first undergraduate degree
  • Applicant must demonstrate superior academic achievement (at least an A average or equivalent standard)
  • Applicant must demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent him/her from pursuing a UBC degree
  • English Language Proficiency Proof:
    • TOEFL: Overall score: 90, with Reading: 22, Listening: 22, Writing: 21, and Speaking: 21
    • IELTS: 65 with no part less than 60
    • PTE: Overall score: 65 with no part less than 60
    • ELP may be waived if the applicant has attended four or more years at an eligible international secondary school that uses English as the language of instruction but operates in a country where the primary language is not English These four years must be immediately prior to attending UBC Applicant must achieve a minimum grade of 75% (Indian grading scale) on the senior English subject

To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. Foreign students wishing to apply for this scholarship must take English proficiency exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE.

  • A student must be nominated for the UBC International Scholars Program by their school guidance counsellor or administrator, or a non-profit organization. A non-profit organization may only nominate high school students. The nomination will count towards the total nominations permitted from the student’s high school
  • A single high school, college, or university may only nominate up to:
  • 2 candidates for UBC Vancouver (including Vantage College)
  • 1 candidate for UBC Okanagan
  • Please note that if a student is nominated for the International Scholars Program, they will not be considered for UBC’s merit-based awards, including the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award and the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES)
  • Award nominations and applications must be submitted in English
