Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships are offered at The University of Sydney to those international students who are pursuing a Masters Degree. This is a Merit Based Scholarship, which is provided to only maximum number of students, depending on the University student. Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships are valued at AUD 40000 for maximum number of students, depending on the University student who qualify from The University of Sydney. Also, the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships is a one time tuition reducing scholarship, offered in the first year of Masters Degree only. Selection Criteria:

  • The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree
  • The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two nominees of the Executive Director, Sydney Future Students and one nominee of the Admissions Office

Termination: The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

  • withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol
  • becomes a domestic student
  • commences part-time study without prior approval
  • does not maintain satisfactory academic performance
  • is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application
  • has accepted another scholarship administered by the University of Sydney (funded by the University or by a third party), of a value at or exceeding A$10,000 per annum
  • does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
    any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination
  • Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must have any one of the following:

  • an Australian bachelor’s degree with honors or higher in any discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification
  • an Australian bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification
  • an Australian bachelor’s degree in an unrelated discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, and relevant professional work experience (typically two years)
  • any of the above combinations of qualifications and/or experience with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required) and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test
  • must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement by submitting one of the following tests:
    • IELTS- Overall score of 7, with a minimum score of 60 in each band
    • TOEFL- Overall score of 96, with a minimum of 17 in reading, listening, and speaking and 19 in writing
    • PTE- Overall score of 68
  • must be enrolled for CRICOS registered program of study at the University in any postgraduate coursework degree program
  • To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the student must maintain a minimum semester average mark of 65 and have no outstanding tuition fees
  • must be willing to promote the program in which they are enrolled as well as represent the University of Sydney at student orientation, marketing events and corporate networking events
